Student Collaborations

Let’s Work Together

I collaborate with students through mentoring, advising and directing research ranging from an independent study, directed readings, Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowships (SURF), Provost Undergraduate Research Scholarships (PURS), and Honor’s thesis. I mentor and advise students through the Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards (OURMA), the Hobby School of Pubic Affairs, and the Houston Galveston Schweitzer Fellowship Program. I have a broad base of Knowledge and experience that allows me to work with students on a variety of research interests. For example, in the health field, I have collaborated with students on improving the system of organ donations, the impacts of drug exclusivity on prescription drug pricing, and analyzing state and federal disability policy. In immigration, I have worked with students on research focused on the immigration experience, the development of immigration admissions policy, Asian American political participation, the effect of constituent attitudes on immigration on legislative behavior, and implementing President Trump’s 2025 immigration directives. In architecture, I collaborated on the impact of gentrification on Houston communications and adaptive reuse of a “mothballed” Galveston power plan. I have worked with students on the policy, governance and law in  artificial intelligence and social media. Some of the research highlights are discussed in this section.
